Spooky College Football Thoughts

As we head into November and begin to see what the National Championship picture is supposed to look at, might we say we have a very spooky weekend? With a new No. 1 for the 3rd week in a row, there is also an interesting slate of games ahead this weekend. Here at CTS we will do our best and give you our thoughts, opinions, and picks on a few contests.

West Virginia -6, 44.5 @ CONNECTICUT - 8 PM

The Huskies haven't beaten the Mountaineers in over five years, and even though they are home at Rentschler Field Saturday evening coach Edsall's team has their work cut out for them. With their starting QB, Cody Endres suspended for the year, Uconn's backup Zach Fraser has a completion percentage of just over 50%.

West Virginia handles Uconn every year, and this one should be no different. Just when you think the Huskies are going to make that jump every year, they manage to come back to earth. After their hiccup last week, I like the Mountaineers to win and cover the spread.

The Pick: Mountaineers -6, 25x, Under 44.5, 25x

Michigan State +6.5, 50 @ IOWA

Sparty is undefeated. Sparty is undefeated. Listen, nobody is saying Michigan State is going into Iowa is beating them. I will however, take the undefeated road dog, getting more than a touchdown. It seems almost stupid NOT to take Sparty here, right? The last three contests between these two have been decided by just eight points. All we are asking from MSU is to go in, give the effort a number five team in the country should give, and hopefully come out covering.

Iowa is a strong squad, without a doubt. There isn't much to not like about Ricky Stanzi, but Kirk Cousins can come in and lead this Spartan team to victory. I don't like Michigan State, I hate rooting for them, but on Saturday, take the 6.5 points.

The Pick: Michigan State +6.5, 50x

Other picks: OK St -5 over KState, Utah -7 over AFA.

Howling at the Moon

It's a big game in the ACC, and Vegas has the Wolf Pack tabbed as 4.5 point underdogs at home this evening conference rival Florida State.

We like the Wolf Pack at home to cover the points.

The public is siding with the boys from Tallahassee, and why shouldn't they? Florida State is one of the favorites to win the ACC this year and they beat the Wolf Pack in their house last year.

I'll go against the public thank you very much. Sitting at 5-2, this is an enormous game for NC ST. and quarterback Russell Wilson, who is outgunned the Noles' Christian Ponder this year in terms of yards, while Ponder just gets him with a little higher of a completion rating.

Listen, bottom line here is is that it's Thursday Night Football on ESPN. Home dogs do well in these games, as this is often pegged as one of the biggest games of the year by the hosting school. We will see what happens, but as noted before I'm siding with the home side.

The Pick: North Carolina State Wolf Pack +4.5, 50x.

Sooner Schooner

OKLAHOMA -5 Over Davidson

I love Steph Curry but I think the loss of Jason Richards really hurts them, Curry has to work that much harder to get open and create his own opportunities. I think the game will be close but OU will pull away in the end and should get the cover.

More Hoops Picks

Youngstown St +23 Over MARYLAND

Terrapins Suck. Possibly more later...

BIG RED

CORNELL -5 Over Loyola-Maryland

Cornell is the class of the Ivy League and we don't know anything about L-M, so why not the Big Red? Also, Penn looked really good today against Drexel so we'll go small on The 'Nell.

Monday Night Football

Monday Night Football

BUFFALO -5 Over Cleveland

This picture describes the story few years ago when these two teams met and the Browns won in the snowy confines of Paul Brown Stadium 8-0. Tonight we get Brady Quinn's first road start and in primetime for the 2nd time in a week. Snow is also in the forecast this evening and you know those Buffalo people (can we even call residents of Buffalo "people", I went there once and I saw some of the ugliest people I've ever seen) have been tailgating since about 9 AM when they were doing kegs and eggs in the parking lot. Anyways, I love Marshawn Lynch and I think the Bills are a good team that have come up on the short end against 3 good teams 3 games in a row. We loved the Browns earlier this year on Monday Night against the Giants but not this time. Kellen Winslow isn't that great, Braylon Edwards (From: Michigan) is inconsistent and Romeo Crennell is...Romeo Crennell. So we are going Lee Evans and his boys because "Nobody...circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills!"

P.S. A big fuck you goes out to the officials doing the Steelers/Chargers game yesterday. Hey N.F.L. good luck seperating yourself from gambling and the people who lost a ton of money

Real Quick

FUCKIN WOW

This line opened at around 5, 5.5, been there most of the week and saw it at 4.5 at the lowest today...Got the word at 8.20 the line moved to 3.5. We liked them at 5, but at 3.5 we LOVE them about as much as want to pork Sloan from Entourage. Lets Go Buffalo.

Sunday Night Cowboys and Indians

Home Team in Caps:

Cowboys PK REDSKINS

Goin' with the 'Boys here. Both teams are coming off byes but with Washington beating Dallas earlier this season I think Jerry Jones' team will be out for blood. Cowboys have Romo coming back. Its not that I love the Cowboys, its more of a hatred for Jason Campbell too. Good luck to the team that wins this game and still has to look up and see the Giants a few miles down the road in first place.

Three hours of this coming at you, enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ep9_MOUGxN4

Wild Finish In Pittsburgh

Pitt -5 OVER San Diego
I can only imagine what the people who had Pitt -5 are thinking right now. Between a holding call and Polamalu, the Iron City Lights will be flowing in the greater Pittsburgh area.
